Ron on Home Gyms

Bent over rowing,how-to-bodybuilding
I would do 70% of my strength training workouts at home in the good old back shed. Hot as hell in summer and cold in winter, but at least it saves a lot of travel and the home set up covers all the basics.

I have built up all my own gear including a bench press rack with adjustable height safety rails in just case I get the bar up!

I also have a pulldown machine and some strongman equipment. All of which gets used on a regular basis. The plates are the 1inch hole version and I have about 450kg of plates and 3 dumb bell sets (adjustable) for most of the upper body work.

Being "strong" helps out with a wide range of activities including the workplace and even gardening at home!

GRIT.
I think your readers might be interested in what I eat as this is a big part of strength training? But they may also be disappointed to find that I use mainly home cooked foods, such as meat, veggies and cereals.

A little secret if you could call it that is not to consume highly processed foods that have had the goodness cooked out of them and lots of chemicals added (preservatives). Leave tins on the shelf and the boxes in the freezer. But take advantage of the freshly vegetables.

At work my lunch is mainly home made bread sandwich with a tin of tuna or sardines and an apple. I use fruit juice mainly and lots of black tea with no sugar. It seems severe but sugar in tea or coffee can add 120 spoons a week to your diet!

I have one can of coke in six months! Sorry for that but I don’t need those chemicals and e numbers. It doesn’t mean I don’t eat a bit of pizza and other stuff like that but it is in moderation.
