Supplements For Strength Training

The question of protein powders,

Well for me I have only just started using them in the last 2 years and mix with milk or water. I do think they help muscle growth even if you’re older. I have proven progress because I use a journal to keep track of measurements, my training and nutrition. Bodybuilding Supplements are not a short cut; it is still takes lots of work and sacrifice to gain muscle and strength!

I sometimes use creatine monohydrate and am yet to see results for that which is a shame because it does get write ups.

John at how-to-bodybuilding shared a tip about Creatine he got from Will Brink. Taking a dose glucose will help non responders to Creatine. I will give that a try on the next cycle and report back if it seems to help.

I stay away from caffeine based products like nitro oxide which is loaded with caffeine. I think it is bad for the heart and restful sleep.

On the subject a good sleep is so important make sure you get that eight hours.

Don’t Be A Meathead

The last thing but just as important as the physical aspect is developing the mind we are not just weight lifting meatheads, as such do something academic or artistic, find time for other hobbies, find time to train with friends, they encourage you a lot, we all need that.

If you can’t get a reliable gym buddy, get some pictures of yourself and post them on facebook for others to comment on, at least that should help you get honest assessment of your progress

Post up a new best lift or a good lift or your build, its good for your development to share with others know how you are going. They will probably post up some of their pictures too so you can get a comparison. It all helps with keeping the interest up and adds motivation.

My final comment is weight training and strength sports are a great wall to slow down the effects of aging, keep fit and in good shape.  You are never too old to start weight training.
